Pages are copied into the new file exactly as they are — text stays selectable, links and fonts are untouched, and nothing is re-rendered or compressed. Thumbnails are drawn by pdf.js and the output is written by pdf-lib, both running locally, so a 300-page scan is handled without ever leaving your computer. Password-protected PDFs need their password removed first.
