Government and bank portals want one PDF, in order, under a size limit. Phone cameras give you a folder of JPGs. This tool takes the photos in the order you drop them, fits each to an A4 or Letter page, and writes a single PDF — all inside your browser, so the ID documents on your phone are never sent anywhere.

Getting clean scans without a scanner

• Flat, even light. Put the document on a dark table near a window; avoid the camera flash, which bleaches the middle and leaves the edges dark.
• Shoot from directly above. Angled photos become trapezoids. Most phone camera apps have a document mode that squares them up.
• One document per photo. Front and back of a card are two photos, two pages.
• Choose Fit to page so every page has the same margins regardless of how each photo was framed.

Meeting upload size limits

Portals commonly cap files at 1–5 MB. Phone photos are 3–6 MB each. Resize photos to around 1500 pixels wide before converting, or pick the Small margin and A4 size here, which typically brings a ten-page document under 2 MB with text still readable.
