What AI Photo Merging Can and Cannot Do by AIMerger

Reliable — works almost every time

• Two people into one photo when both face the camera in similar light.
• Background swaps — the person stays, the setting changes.
• Outfit and hairstyle changes on a clear, front-facing photo.
• Product into a scene from a clean product shot.
• Style transfer — watercolour, anime, oil painting.

Usually works — expect one retry

• Group photos of 4–8 people from separate pictures. Scale and gaze mismatches are the usual reason for a retry.
• Adding a person to an existing photo where the space is tight or the light is unusual.
• Age progression — very convincing from 20 to 60; less so from a baby photo, because there is little identity to preserve.
• Cartoon characters beside a real person — the character is drawn in a consistent style, but its scale needs checking.

Genuinely hard — treat the result as fun, not fact

• Future baby generators. Every tool, ours included, produces a plausible child that borrows features from both parents. It is not a prediction. Enjoy it as one.
• Old, damaged or very low-resolution photos. Restoration invents detail that was not there. It looks good; it is not a record.
• Hands, text and fine jewellery. Still the weakest area of every image model. Check them before printing.

Does not do

• Produce a different person while keeping "the same face" — identity and appearance are the same thing to the model.
• Merge files that are not photos into a photo. A spreadsheet cannot become a picture of a spreadsheet's contents.
• Guarantee identical results twice. Every generation is new; that is why Try again exists and why failed ones are free.
